Senior Vice-President, Tax, The Thomson Corporation, Ontario

Most of us do all we can to minimize our contact with taxes, but Vance Sider has spent a career immersed in them. Vance has served on all sides of the tax arena: government, advisor and head of tax for a large corporation. After tallying and assessing with Canada Revenue Agency, he became a tax partner with KPMG, giving tax advice to an impressive list of large corporations. Since 2006, he has been head of tax for Thomson Reuters, managing a group of about 90 people in various locations worldwide.

But there is more to Vance than numbers and April deadlines. Family, golf, and reading help him balance the demands of managing and relating to a global team. In his talk “Top Gun Reveals His Secrets”, Vance will give glimpses into his life, business and relationship with God as he shares three things he has discovered to be the secrets to success.
