Shared Insights in Abbotsford
LeaderImpact Abbotsford hosted two events with Don Van Meer, January 31 and February 1. Don is the President and CEO of Carswell, a division of ThomsonReuters, and he shared his insights on creating highly engaged teams at the Leadership Forum. His presentation was packed with value, especially in relation to teams that are faced with significant change within their organizations. One of the highlights was hearing how Don struggled with a fear of failure and how his faith relationship with God helped him overcome those fears. It was evident that the guests appreciated Don’s experience by the number of questions he answered after his presentation, and how many spoke with him after the Forum.
The next morning Don shared his story with a small group of bankers, lawyers, and HR professionals. This event was hosted by a local banker at a bakery shoppe (see photo). The intimate setting allowed Don to share in a more personal manner and resulted in a great conversation about leadership and faith. The stories he shared of his leadership journey to CEO, and how his faith in God shaped that journey, were fascinating. He definitely left everyone thinking about their own leadership and faith journey.
