Meet Eric Wiens, New Winnipeg City Chair

I have been actively involved in church and outreach into the community since my university years. Despite many years of involvement, I found spiritual conversations with nonbelievers to be awkward and in many cases ineffective. I got involved with LIG a couple of years ago when I was invited to participate in a Bursting Your Bubble training session. I found the spiritual discussion and life story training to be very practical and I met a group of people who were together finding ways to make their faith relevant in the workplace.

I also learned about an upcoming Forum event and invited several co-workers and clients to attend. They enjoyed the event and it provided me with subsequent opportunities to engage them in further spiritual discussions. One of these friends agreed to join a LIG Group and as we went through the weekly discussions I saw him moving in his spiritual journey. The effectiveness of the LIG four step program and their commitment to help business leaders find the relevance of faith in Jesus Christ in their personal and professional lives resonates with where I am at in my life. I look forward to working with you as we trust God to work in the lives of leaders in Winnipeg and across the province.
