It’s Happening in Montreal!

One does not need to look far to find a lost people group in need the gospel message. In fact we just need to look to our neighbours in Quebec. The Quebecois’ response to the gospel is comparable to that of people in the Muslim world. A crisis of faith, yes. A tremendous opportunity, also yes. There are those reaching out to the domains of politics and education but who is reaching the business people?

On February 16, 2012 I was thrilled to be invited to introduce LeaderImpact Group to a handful of individuals who gathered to consider the possibility of reaching out to marketplace leaders in Montreal. What emerged from this boardroom experience was nothing short of answered prayer.  The group consisted of a diverse group of young career minded men, several ladies, some well placed experienced marketplace leaders, and a leader with a resolve to lead this passionate group of Christ followers on what very well could end up being the faith adventure of a lifetime.

While hosted at the AMJ Campbell boardroom, the session began with a variety of snacks, an opportunity to get to know the people God had prepared beforehand to attend the evening, a presentation on LIG, great stories of changed lives, and the challenge to embark on this exciting faith adventure. Pierre Frappier was the perfect host and shared a wealth of experience and wisdom with the group, while Eric Rose took care of all the logistics and gave a stirring challenge to the group to consider “next steps”.

Given the overwhelming response by those present, the immediate next steps include: launching a Burst Your Bubble program for the newly formed Montreal team; leader training; further recruiting; and plans for a Forum Event to build momentum and launch additional groups. To those who have prayed to see a faithful group of ministry partners who are dedicated to helping marketplace leaders discover the relevance of faith in their business and personal lives, your prayers have been answered!
